Fantasy Brown Marble or Granite or Quartzite?

Fantasy Brown is an Indian stone. It is one of the most popular materials in India. It has cream, brown, white background with brown, blue, and sometimes purple veins and cloudy patterns. It is mainly used for worktops. Most of the people are confused that it should be called marble or should be called granite. It has a resemblance to marble and granite. Here we try to find out exactly what it is.

Hailing from India BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP, Fantasy Brown is an extremely popular choice for designers and homeowners who want a marble-like aesthetic but are searching for a material that’s more durable. It’s a highly popular design, as homeowners are taken with its creamy, easy-to-match color scheme and rich marbling.

There are thousands of natural stones available in the world right now but now and then there comes a granite, marble, or quartzite that we just can’t get enough of, we get regular calls about, and homeowners simply must-have.

Fantasy Brown is one of those stones. Cool gray waves and smooth swirls tumbling diagonally across the slab, stunning mineral formations, and the faintest hues of green and rose to make this truly unique stone. But what is it? Is it quartzite as so many fabricators label it or are the suppliers who categorize it as marble correct?

It mostly does perform like quartzite or granite. It’s a great stone. Geologically it does have some calcium carbonate & thus is a marble. A very hard marble, Even so, we have never noticed it etch, but since there’s some calcium carbonate we called it what it is –

The answer is a little complicated. Most broad stone types like marble or granite include a wide variety of different mineral compositions. Some marbles are much harder than others, and the same goes for quartzite. So, the precise geological term for a stone is not always a guarantee of how the stone will last or stand up to normal wear and tear.

Technically it’s a Marble, but there’s more to the Story

Geologically speaking, it contains the mineral calcium carbonate, which is a defining feature of marble. However, it’s an extremely hard marble with a very low risk of etching or staining.

In other words, it behaves like quartzite because we can’t expect our clients to know the finer details of how each individual stone will perform in the kitchen; we classify them according to durability. That means that in our showroom, you will see Fantasy Brown. Fantasy Brown Quartzite is a durable, reliable countertop choice. With proper sealing once to twice a year, you won’t have to worry about etching or staining. Quartzite is scratch resistant, but we don’t recommend cutting on your natural stone, as it will dull your knives!

Both are metamorphic stones, one of the three main types of rock (the other two are igneous, which includes granite, and sedimentary). Marble is created when limestone is “recrystallized” through exposure to heat, pressure, and/or chemically-active liquids. These forces change the composition of the stone, leaving behind an interlocking pattern of white crystals. The swirls and colors found in marble are technically impurities that occur when clay, sand, iron, and other materials find their way into the metamorphosing limestone but they have no impact on the quality of the stone in terms of use in the home.

COMBINATION OF QUARTZITE

Marble is softer than granite and quartzite, which makes it more susceptible to scratches over time.

The stone is what I call a “combo stone” – it’s a combination of quartzite minerals and calcite – calcite being a soft mineral and quartzite being a hard one.  So this stone, depending on its density plus quartzite to calcite ratio, can be pretty darn durable but that durability will fluctuate with the ratio of quartzite to calcite in the slab. The more quartzite, the more durability. We have sold a lot of this material and have had rave reviews from customers on how much they love this stone and how well it performs for them.

I think a lot of customer satisfaction comes with properly educating customers on the type of stone they are choosing and how to take care of it. I find that a lot of the customer base I work with, once they know how to properly care for their stone, or what to expect from it, they are very happy with their choice.” While marble comes from limestone, quartzite is created when those same “metamorphosing” forces of heat, pressure, and chemically-active liquids come into contact with sandstone. This difference is what gives quartzite its glassy surface. Quartzite can range from slightly harder than marble all the way to harder than granite.

Fantasy Brown Quartzite is a durable, reliable countertop choice with proper sealing once to twice a year; you won’t have to worry about etching or staining. Quartzite is scratch resistant, but we don’t recommend cutting on your natural stone, as it will dull your knives. Fantasy Brown is a quartzite from India. Quartzite, despite its name, does not contain quartz; it’s actually a natural stone with properties similar to granite. Sometimes, Fantasy Brown is also called Terra Bianca. Its shades of white, beige, and gray draw linear patterns reminiscent of marble.

CHEMICAL TEST

The chemical test of this stone reveals that it contains a lot of calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate is one of the most critical elements in marble. This stone has a lot of calcium carbonate with silica. But it also has an excellent quartz percentage. This quartz makes the stone harder to cut. However, the percentage of quartz is not so large, and this material is cut on banded marble. Cutting the stone is not too difficult, and we can cut this stone into normal marble hordes. This is one of the causes of why marble is more than granite.

PHYSICAL TESTS

The physical test of this stone shows that the hardness of this rock is lower than the level of granite. It is a stone easy to cut. The shine of this material after polishing is not like granite. Granite is a very tough material due to the richness of quartz. The hardness makes the material more polished. This marble sanding is performed on a marble sander. It does not require massive granite polishers. It has also been found during polishing that this material has many slurry particles.

Usually, during the granite mush, the polishing is much lower, but the Fantasy chocolate pours a lot of porridge due to its softness against the harsh abrasives. In addition to chemical and physical tests, this beautiful stone look is more like marble. Unlike granite, it has different models and colors. Granite is more consistent in the models.

CONCLUSION

After the test, we have the exact statement that the fantasy of chocolate is solid marble, but may not be granite. We should call this material Fantasy Brown Marble and not Fantasy Brown Granite. if you find unused asbestos material or are exposed at random near your home, I suggest to call professionals, asbestos minerals are harmful to your liver and your health if you are close to the city Geelong.
